Abseiling

Abseiling is a means of descending a rock face by sliding down ropes, controlling your own speed as you go. It is great fun, and always gets the adrenalin pumping as you disappear over the edge.

At Plas Gwynant we use a number of different natural rock faces for abseiling offering different levels of challenge, from relatively small slabs to free hanging vertical drops. We can arrange the activity to suit any group, and can progress at an appropriate pace.

Abseiling is an excellent activity for helping individuals build confidence through personal challenge, as well as stimulating communication between the group in terms of encouragement and praise.

Abseiling can either be completed as a separate activity or it can form part of a rock climbing session as a way of getting down a cliff once you have climbed to the top.
