Kayaking is a fun water-based activity where each group member is given the challenge of learning the skills required to take charge of their craft. At some point most participants will get wet and this is usually through their own doing!
We use a variety of local venues, from flat water lakes, through challenging white-water rivers, to some of the best beaches and coastal scenery in Britain. Courses can be arranged to focus on kayaking skills, ensuring a smooth progression within the activity for all concerned
Introductory sessions usually take place on one of several local lakes where the focus is on learning new skills whilst in a safe, enjoyable and supportive environment.
Groups will often opt for a taster session, but for those with prior experience or if you want to develop kayaking skills as part of your course we can offer the following possibilities:
- Kayak surfing
- River and estuary trips
- Overnight Expeditions
- British Canoe Union performance awards
Kayaking can be directly linked to GCSE, A Level and BTEC curriculums in both PE and Outdoor Adventurous Activities modules.
